Creative Solutions to Global Issues
The shinyshinyworld is a creative partnership where Jane Smith and Lisa Anderson work together to develop projects that express our concerns for the environment and how people interact with each other.
We develop artwork and respond to briefs that include introducing a more gentle touch between people and between people and with their environment, both natural and built.
Our consultancies and tasks include research, creating and advising on elegant solutions to issues that involve climate change, new technology, new skill development, sustainability and capacity building.
Jane Smith
Jane has a senior executive career that spans more than 20 years and covers positions in telecoms, broadcasting, film and TV development and financing and education sectors. She has been the Telecoms Adviser to Federal Minister(s) for Transport & Communications during major reviews of the industry regulatory structure and the government business enterprises in the sector.
Other positions include Head of Strategy for ABC, CEO of the NSW Film and Television Office, Vice President for SEED (Hugh Jackman's production company in Australian). Jane also ran a number of large aid projects while at the ABC - reforming the South African Broadcasting Corporation in the post-aparthied era and also working with the broadcasters in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. Jane is Director of the shinyshinyworld and has produced several large scale art projects and exhbitions over the last 2 years.
Jane is also currently contracted as the Head of Centre for Screen Writing for AFTRS in Sydney.
Jane is also doing a number of consultancies that involve strategy, business, development, technology change and education.
She is currently an Adviser to the Boards of Television Sydney and also the Gold Coast Film Festival.
Dr Lisa Anderson
Lisa is an artist and educationalist working for over 30 years as a practicing artist, curator, lecturer and project manager.
Her work include major public art installations such as Singing up Stones the first image projection on the Sydney Opera House, Archeology of Memory, a work that traveled internationally and recently The Truth About Snodomes which has been seen in Taomina Film Festival in Sicily, St Tropez Film Festival, Baltimore 405 and has toured regional galleries in Australia and Canada.
ATTLA (snow that makes beautiful pictures as it falls) is a recent installation from Customs House in Sydney.
Lisa is currently devising a new work, shinyshinycloud, which will incorporate new digital and touch technologies, and cloud access systems, playing on the texts of people working with the environment and personal observations about climate change.
This international project shinyshinycloud hopes to bring together recent digital experimentation and documentation in places such as the High Arctic, Borobudur, London, Lake Mungo and Beijing to understand the wonder of what can be lost and found again.
There are other professionals who often collaborate with the shinyshinyworld these include Tracey Mair who develops the promotional work and sponsorship for projects and Dr Jon Drummond the Australian new media composer.
